 I am the one who used to care.

I am the one who believed the lie that

if you acquire a good education

and

if you are a good citizen

and

if you pray to the correct God,

then

you will be certain to have a happy family

and

a satisfying career.

 

' I am the outcast.

I am the despised.

I am the dispossessed.

[Or am I the possessed?]

 

' I am that which I am.

I will not pretend to be any other.

 

  'Am I just One?

Or do I dwell in your soul?

If you are happy with your life, then you knoweth me not.

If you feel empty and dissatisfied with your station in life, then you ARE me .

 

' There is a new world coming

and

it is   MINE.
